Yep. Orange. I'm going to paint mine orange once I get it out this weekend.I vote for chevy orange and not just because im a chevy guy. Think about how easy it would be to find leaks if you had a bright orange block. Now think about how hard it would be if you had a black block.
my vote is for blue


I always like to paint the engines black as it helps to draw heat from the engine quicker (probably not by much but sometimes every little bit helps).
Thats an idea........Ford blue. That way you get good looks and maybe some extra reliability..................![]()
It's gm blue. Most 70s engines were blue that I have seen. Ford blue is a royaler color.
Wow, you are much more patient than I. I just assemble them, and then spray them. Nothing gets masked.

Looks really good. The orange was a good choice.
You can also use grease for the drain plugs. Just apply it before painting and wipe it off when your done. The grease trick helps with small areas where it is nearly impossible to put tape.
