I met the Samsterman once. He's all right in my book. :waytogo:

I used to live in Charlotte and I would go to Uwharrie OHV in Troy, NC. That place was fun. I didn't have much wheelin experience back then and tore up my GF's Scout II. :haha:It's a lot different than Cali wheelin that's for sure.

Aw man, I think my truck misses california. I have broken down more out here than I ever did back in the desert.
I'm sad that superstition is about 50 hours away from me though. No where out here can I find any sand dunes.

damn im in cary/ apex nc we need to get together some time damn i mentioned this in another thread. fat 62 is in cherry point.

Yeah man, if he is out at Cherry Point, I was trying to get out to cape hattaras and go look at the lighthouses and do some fishing this spring. We should plan something even if it's just a wrenching day.

Closest sand dunes in NC is driving on the beach at Hatteras...lol. No driving on the actual dunes but can drive on the beach at 10MPH...lol.

Well guys, good and bad news. :doah:
Got everything underneath the truck Friday right before I had dinner planned with my GF, decided to take it out to dinner to break it in.
Drove about 15 miles, and then all of a sudden heard a nasty clunk/grinding sound from the drivers rear and it started to drag really bad. I haven't had a chance to tear into it, but it looks and feels like a hub bearing. Also I am in the doghouse with the GF because of it.
Here is the only picture I got before it got dark.

I should have my truck fixxed and working by next weekend. I am going to head out to Uwharrie and work on the trails with a bunch of guys from NC4x4 and heavyleft is going to try to make it as well. If you want to go, it would be cool to try and caravan down there, also would give me some backup since I have had a string of bad luck with this truck.

Put about 500 miles on the truck this week, and it all looks good. I have realized that I have a out of round Km2 at one of the four corners. Going to the tire shop next week to see if they can figure it out. I thought my vibration and "hopping" at high speeds was a driveline issue, turns out after new rims, axle, hubs, driveshaft, the hop is still there. Gonna figure this one out!

Allright everybody! The moment I have promised and promised would come, pictures! No one wants to hear me ramble anymore so here they are:

Things I need to do this week before camping on the weekend:
Tig Weld the crack I found in my NP208,
Fix the exhaust leak I have from the headers,
and somehow start dealing with the firewall mess. It is letting a ton of engine noise and also road noise into the cabin, and I am also getting water from the left and right kick panel area when it rains. so somewhere there is a leak, and I think It is up under the windshield area. Gonna do some digging and see what I come up with. No idea how to attack it though.

Check and clean out under your windshield wipers. That has ducts in it to divert water out the drain hole in the body. Mine was plugged up with mud and leaves and kept flooding my cab as well. Cleaned it all up, stuck a hose in there and ran it for 20min and not a drop inside after.

Thanks! I was going to start digging under there because I am pretty sure it is full of crap from the last 20 years. Any idea on how to remove these wiper arms? They seem to be stuck on really good.

Also, I know it looks like rust all under my truck, but i promise that is just a nice coating of some NC clay from the last adventure. you can see some that fell off in my parking spot. :doah:

the wiper arms have a small tab on the underside of the pivot arm...that tab needs to be spread away from the splined shaft groove, and then with EVEN pressure pull them straight up off the splined shaft.

Truck is looking great!

Going Camping this weekend, all packed up and ready to rock! Tried my best to do an allignent, was toed in about 1.5 inches (wow), and hoping that this gets my tire wear under control a little bit.
