Just a fun truck. Daily it for the most part and hit the trails on the weekends.
One of many reasons why I don't live in the springs. That area is a friggin magnet for big hailstorms. I think it's got to do with the geography how close it is to the mountains.

Glad the truck fared better than the rest.

So how’s sacked squash doing?
Currently down, should be back up this weekend.

Pulled the Q-Jet and cast iron intake in favor of an Eddy aluminum intake and a Holley 670 CFM 4160.

Holley started shooting fuel out of somewhere that fuel isn't supposed to be shot out of and fuel got all over the intake... the Holley got pulled and the engine has an Eddy 1406 sitting on it now, I just ordered some different jets and metering rods to get it up to par for the elevation. Those should be here in a few days.

Ran new heater hose, new fuel hose, new rad hoses, new vac hose etc.

New water pump and a few other small things.

Bought a new 8" stock replacement balancer cause the elastomer in the old one is clapped out. Got some fancy timing tape to slap on that thing too lol.

Got some MSD 8mm cut to length spark plug wires so I don't end up with 3' long spark plug wires like I usually end up getting at the parts stores. Got the fancy expensive tool to work the spark plug wires over with too...

Got a 1-4 lb. fuel pressure regulator too. Word is those Eddy's like 2.5-3 lbs. of pressure.

Last picture is kinda bad, the engine bay is cleaned up a lot compared to how it was. Removed an auxiliary battery tray off of the passenger side inner fender, removed an electric fuel pump that was mounted there too. Got rid of the block/coolant heater ththat was spliced into one of the heater hoses along with both of the rotted out heater hoses.

Found out that the block was decked at some point (no numbers stamped into the pad behind the alternator anymore).

I've got two different head castings too lol. Don't care too much about it though, runs good.

Intake and carb swap is done.

Had a backfire issue. Ended up being #5 & #7 plug wires were swapped...

Running real good minus a little bog when I lay on it. Gonna get in there tomorrow morning and work the carb over real good.

Took the truck out into some nice terrain today and snapped a few pics.

When I set my timing I set it a 10° ATDC when it should be at BTDC. It runs good but it's running rich. Took it on the highway this evening and it seemed like the rpm's were higher than they should've been for the speed I was going. I don't currently have a tach but it just sounded too high.

Other than that everything is good!

Picked up a functional tailgate, an un-bent chrome/diamond plate step bumper with brackets and a stock '73-'80 front bumper minus brackets.

Planning on taking some 3/16" or 1/4" strap and bending it and drilling the holes to make the front bumper brackets. Looked up a set of new ones online and the kit is like $90ish..., used on Ebay around $60. I'll pass on those prices.

Planning on doing a Ford Windstar or similar electric fan conversion soon too!

Dropped the accelerator pump down to the lowest hole (leanest) on the linkage and leaned the carb out via the A/F mixture screws too.

Things runs like Usain Bolt!!!
