SAS advice -97 k2500

I made a little more progress. I have the rear flip done and the drag link installed. I still have much more cutting to do on old brackets up front. I also plan to notch out a relief in the front crossmember so the leaf springs have more upward movement.

SAS is a pain but I would imagine an IFS lift would be almost as much pain.

The SAS is 99% done. One problem I have is the speedo is not working. The VSS on the NP241 is known to be good and is plugged into the harness. I think this can be solved by putting a jumper on the 4x4 position plug. If anyone knows for sure what to do here, please let me know.

The exhaust was a little tight on the pass side around the t-case, but there was room to put dual 3" pipes, one on each side of the case. I welded this up myself because I am a tightazz and I hate taking vehicles to shops for any reason.

The shifter was a pain to install as there is little room in the tranny tunnel around the 4L80e. I used a pre-88 NP208 shifter but I think the better way to do this is to use a post-88 shifter with an extended shaft that goes across the top of the tranny to the pass side.

I also need to install an anti-sway bar as this pig really leans in corners!

Overall I think this is worth the work. The truck rides surprisingly good up front and has a hell of a lot of flex thanks to the 52" springs. The amount of effort is probably comparable to installing an IFS lift but the end result is much better (beefy axle + good articulation).

Now to SAS my other two K2500's!

I did have to cut some notches for the springs. I wanted to keep the ride height increase to a minimum so I had to cut out about 2". The springs still hit at full stuff but some bumpstops should take care of that.
