Sasquatch

92 K3500 CCLB 454 TBI / 4L80E This is the rebuild of a rig that was purchased recently. This is to serve as a family tow rig that doesn't have a payment.
Update!

Took the crewcab on a camping trip to scout a new hunting area. Pulled the goat trailer and the goats around the Oregon Coast Range for about 80 miles of gravel. Lots of tight turns and chances to discuss with Jess about our builds. She still holds onto the Limo pretty tight. Had a few trade offers for it and cash as well. She gets a bit feisty over it. The crew cab will NOT get the axles from the suburban. Yet, lol.
For the crew can though. She likes the flatbed idea now. Eventually getting a gooseneck trailer to haul the goats. The straight axle possibilities are up in the air, driver side or passenger drop? I have a 44 in the weeds. It wouldn't really be a big deal to me if I dont have a one ton front axle. If I'm keeping the Limo to explore. Than really I just need a 14bff rear, right? Just throwing this idea though, if I'm flatbedding it. What if I use a K30 dually as a donor? Ford F350 dually? Since I've got a few other projects happening here before I really get to tackle it. I can get parts gathered and ideas drawn.

Oh, and forgot to mention that the Expedition was wrecked and totaled. We bought it back. She is driving it and we will be rebuilding it right for her. She will drive it till it dies or she finally decides to buy the van she wants

I've been keeping an eye out for a good deal on a drivers side drop axle. Haven't seen anything worth picking up. I sold the Dana 44 that was out back in the field.

Today I picked up the bushings, ball joints and brakes for the front end. I can't wait for an axle any longer. The front needs some attention and the rear axle needs brakes as well. So I grabbed them at the parts store also.

Motor and axles from the truck behind it ........

That would make this one of the most expensive trucks on CK5. The dodge was supposed get an engine rebuild prior to this SAS. Not exactly ready to do this. Obviously since I bought IFS parts this weekend.

Yeah I'd say superduty axles are gonna be the cheapest option. Or a 3/4 ton Dana 44 out of a 70s ford.

You know my vote lol. BJ Ford 60's can be had for cheap. At least around here they can be.
They basically get junked around here. If it's not a Chevy 60 or a HP Ford 60, everyone thinks they are worthless.

Of course I see dually Chevy 60s for 1200 on c list too.. when those should only be 600-700...

I did an 89 ford d60 in my 93 burb. It's the wider spring width, which isn't a big deal to me cause running 35's I don't have clearance issues with the springs at all, plus it meant less cutting on the cross-member than going with a 78-79 ford axle. Still king pin so doing steering was a breeze with standard crossover steering. And I picked it up for $650. It was a dually axle when I bought it, but those are super easy to convert to SRW as I used d50 ttb hubs I found on c-list for $60, and for another ~$50 in new bearings and seals, I was into a pretty fresh ford d60 for $760. That's a good deal IMO.

Just trying to give more options. I have no problems with people wanting to use BJ ford 60's or superduty axles

So the guy who has the blue bed is dragging his feet seriously. So I found another bed and bought it.
I'll be grinding the frame this weekend if it doesn't rain too bad. Start the Dana 60 prep for the chassis. It will be leaf spring. Time and money demand it be done as fast and cheap as possible
