SBD's 69K5 "The Anti Prius" Everybody loves Pictures & Video-(My not a build thread)

I found this on a facebook page. Don't remember seeing it anywhere. Thought youd enjoy if you hadn't seen it Chris :thumb:

Adam No I have not seen this picture. That was on one of the 1st shakedown trips. Some random dude came into our camp and asked me if I would rip a couple turns for him to shoot. said he saw me earlier in the day and not to many full sized trucks actually power turns on the hills. Thanks Guess I'll check out his site.

So,,,,,,,,

Any updates on the new spring setup?

:popcorn::popcorn:

Sorry kinda forget to update sometimes. Springs Great,Shocks Great, Changing the U-bolts to give more clearance Not so Great, Stock rubber bumps Not so Great, Jumps in the dark of night Really Not so Great. Bent rear axle and tons of metal to metal slamming of U-Bolt ends and what ever you call that big flat plate on top into the frame. No broken shock tabs, no busted hoses, no bent shafts and very very happy rear seat campers. Fixed the axle and trussed the living poo out of it, I'm now in the process of installing some Fox 2.0 Air/Hyd Bump stops.

So I the set to music videos that were posted of you blasting blasting down the dirt roads what was your suspension setup? Looked like it rode pretty friggin good. Mine currently rides like a really sweet buckboard wagon. :haha:

At some point when life lets me, suspension upgrades will be at the forefront of my to do list. :waytogo:

Back to the top for updates:waytogo: Nice rig man. Renee suggested I check out this build, and I have a few questions...

What length springs did you use, both front and rear?

How does it ride in woops?

How much suspension travel do you have?

What are the shock lengths (compressed and extended)

Thanks:D

Sorry for the lack of response I kinda lose track of threads:whistle:
Stock lengths both front (I think 46") and rear (Don't recall) but stock length, just custom design by stephen and chris at ORD for my style of romping. Aprox 13" total travel, All shocks are Fox 2.5 / 14" triple by-passess. I don't think I ever wrote the measurements down.

Love this rig! Been watching for a while. Subscribing to keep up on the Awesome:popcorn:

I thought you moved to Texas? Dumont is my next or 1st outing this year for Halloween. no concrete plans after that. Guess it will depend on what breaks and how fast I can come up with $$ to fix it:doah: Let me know

I'm not gone yet but we're looking for a house out there.
We extended our stay here for another month. I want to do a pre season run if I can.
Either way, when I head out I'm going to stop by the Imperial Valley dunes.
I'm going to check on the JIMMY today and make sure it still runs. I'm always ready.

....and that hood ornament rocks! :pimp:

Man I totally suck at this update thing. 2014 what the hell! This is what happens when you have no wrenching friends. With nobody to save me from myself. I thought I heard a noise, so I whip out the ol'e stethoscope and yep grinding in the back of the pan sorta but way more on the drivers side. Seems odd so off comes the pan. YEP note to self, should of bought the DIY4X motor cross-member. Drop pan looks great, mains plastic gauge at 1.5 good. pull d-side valve cover and #3 intake rocker arm is just barley on, and the roller Bering is kinda rough, push rod is totally straight. Could that of been my grinding noise all the way down in the pan? At this point I could of stopped but sand gets in everywhere so to finish cleaning and to not have to reach over and stretch I pull the whole thing out. WTH Now I'm gona finally find out what damn cam I'm running. It's been 5 years and maybe 15,000 miles on this thing. My wife thinks I'm crazy for tearing down a perfectly good motor.

Ps. I did buy that cross member
