Well turns out I did ruin the trans. I was able to get another 20 miles from her after fluid and filter swap and she quit.

Now I am having a local shop in Clarksburg, WV rebuild it. The shop will set her up with a firmer shift, for towing and for the offroad abuse she will face.

Dang, I was afraid of that. Maybe it will turn out for the best though.
Is this the same one that kept swapping fluids?
If you didn't get that figured out, ask these guys. Maybe they can see something.

Yep it is the same one. i told this to the trans tec and he explained that it was really an issue with the 3rd and 4th gear that caused that problem. i cant recall the specifics but he assured me that this new build will stand up to heavy hauling and serious wheeling.

I explained that my work required highway driving and offroad cruelty to this truck. I scheduled to have her back @ 4:30 today. I've been stuck in WV the past two days.

There is a port that's plugged off on the driver's side about half way up. That's where mine is.

Never knew that was there. I put a deeper trans pan in, and just put it through the side of that.
