Ok so im going to be going to 37's soon and am wanting to do as much as i can to keep the tires out of the firewall, Im running a 4 inch lift curently and figure a zero rate will give me 5 inches front, the a 4 inch shackle flip and zero rate out back.
So what im wondering is what all is involved with moving the axle forward an inch? also is it even worth doing, im already planning on trimming the fenders and clearancing the rear.
also what will this do to the road manners? curently the k5 is still my dd and im trying to keep her that status.
Thanks, Cody.

pretty simple. the zero rate comes with offset holes to allow you to move the axle 1" or 1.5" forward or backward from the spring pin location

If you are not crossover right now an inch can usually be adjusted out of the stock draglink.

If not it can be cut so there is enough room for adjustment. Not really a big deal.

Its a good thing to move it forward considering leaf springs with shackles in the rear will put the tire towards the rear of the truck when under compression.

37's won't hit the firewall, if you're not running crossover I would keep the axle in the stock position and trim to fit (adjusting the draglink to be shorter just amplifies all of the downfalls of the stock steering system).

Am I the only person that feels with the fenders hacked all the way open theres way more room on the cab then in the front of the fender for tires?

I plan on moving my rear from 2" forward to 1" forward when I put my new spring hanger in. I have a mile of room against the cab.
