After changing the oil on 3 rigs today I did some messing around in the field... I really need to get out wheeling this summer :eek1:

Can't wait to do the 2.5" shackle flip and 2" springs and see how it looks without a sway bar :D

More Pics of the Blazer...?

The K5 or the S-10?

The S-10 is pretty nice.. TBI 4.3L V6 and 700R4 4wd.. fun vehicle to drive. It's my moms and I was doing some work on it so I figured it'd make a good pic :D Paint was redone at some point but the interior needs to be detailed.

careful - doorless isn't legal in WA. granted, you're in BFE washington... but still! ;)

Youtube video coming :wink1: We did a trial run up in BFE, we being my brother and I. Neither of us have ever run topless and doorless and we had a blast.

For what it's worth I think it would only be VPD and WSP that would take issue with it.. I need to get a mirror though. Thinking about getting something that bolts to the top hinge since with the springs there it is fixed. I was about to do quick release doors but for my uses it's something I don't need. Doors and top come off once a year and go back on once a year. Might make the bottom hinge quick release to simplify it since it is flapping but that's it..

i suspect you'll find that quick release will be nice on both hinges simply because re-aligning a door with all the bolts is a major pain - with quick release, you never have trouble realigning because of the hinges staying put on teh doors/body.

I'll have to see when I put them on. To take them off i used two come alongs and some rope in the barn rafters, was easy :D

Probably get kicked for this but where's the Ranger?

Sitting in the driveway waiting for me to figure out what to do with it  The tranny took a dump while my brother was using it. Went BANG and no more movement forwards or backwards.

Doesn't surprise me, it's seen some pretty major abuse for the last 40K or so, including running the trany out of fluid twice because of a leak.

Yep...Ford had a bad run with their auto OD trans in those trucks. I guess maybe Ford decided that since GM went with their fullsize auto OD trans they'd save money and go with a smaller one...that didn't turn out so well.

If I ever get another Ranger it will most definitely be a 5 speed stick.

Blazenoffroad has a nice pair of doors for only $180. IF you change your mind.

Im going to mount a little mirror off of a 75 LTD to the drivers door. It will be small enough not to get in the way , but its a mirror so the cops shouldnt b*tch

That's what I think too.. IMHO for a daily driver truck with some mild capabilities it is a sleeper, certainly as good as the IFS Toys and as a 4x4 a step up from the S10.

What's killing me is the interior is nice and the engine runs strong but I don't know if I want to fix it. I'm thinking a 5 speed might get it up to 20mpg from 17-18 I was getting when I didn't race it, however I've never done that kind of swap so I don't know.

i'd give you a hand with the swap - it's not too hard as long as you've got everything you need (i.e. a pedal assembly/clutch assembly, the bell housing, trans, clutch, flywheel..., probably have to do something about your driveshafts too...) pretty involved, but not too hard. ;)
