can you use sea foam poured directly into the gas tank?...i took my truck to a mechanic here locally, and he poured a hole can of sea foam into the gas tank, and it only had a half tank of gas:eek1:

now the damn thing's smokin like a sumbitch:doah:

was this a good idea?

that just means its working. it'll clean it out and run better.

I wouldnt worry about it in the tank, I had a 95 f-150 with a 351 in it. It ran decent but had alot of miles and failed smog over 50 times the gross polluter limit. :eek1: After a good tune up I decided to run some sea foam through it after hearing some good things about it. I ran it through a vaccum source straight into the motor, smooked like hell, and sputtered like crazy until the can was empty. Ran good as ever after that. I think its kind of a snake oil type deal and isnt a cure all for an old motor but I dont think it could hurt to clear out some carbon deposites in the motor. But yes, running it through the gas is one way of injecting it into the engine and ocne its gone things will be back to normal. Let us know if you notice any difference.

By the way my ford passed with flying colors after all, but it wasnt only the sea foam cleaning things out. I think it was mainly the good tune up, and the alcohol I ran in the tank.:D

according to their website, you can use 1/3 to a full pint of it in the gas tank.....doesn't really mention how much gas it should be though. If anything, you can fill 'er up and then she may smoke a bit less.

We run straight SeaFoam right thru the fuel injected motors at work.. 2-strokes too... fill the fuel filters up with it and run em.. Does wonders...

They also have a very nice penetrating oil called Deep Creep that rivals PB Blaster...

I bought mine at Napa.

Per their website:
