Phew! It wasn't just me :o

i use howes fuel additive in my work truck.it is supposed to help keep the engine clean and also adds a couple miles per gallon.plus it is warranteed not to mess up any engine.i dont know if this is the kind of thing you are looking for but it is the info i can help with.we also use rotella 15w40 oil in our trucks.

Crane Engine Break-In additive is good to run all the time. It contains Zink and Phosphates that were removed from Rotela and other diesel oils.

Do a little research on diesel rated oil and you`ll find most MFG`ers will void warranty of car type oils are used. Theres so much oil war info going around your head will spin but the basics are pretty clear. The comment about sulfur,or lack of are correct, the fuel additives are not sulfur but other lubricants that replaced the sulphur that was a lube for the injector pumps etc. Used to be red diesel was said to have more sulphur than clear also but them days are long gone. I believe Rotella is making 2 types of Dino 15/40 diesel oil CF/CH etc,etc or "commercial grade" The new breed of smog equiptment loaded diesel trucks cannot use the older formulas due to zinc and sulphur as it burns off and clogs the cats or particulate filters now installed. You`ll also find lots of guys with older muscle cars run "diesel specific oils" as the cams and valve trains hold up better. Also many run it in bikes,Harley being one who reccomends it if their oil or a bike specific oil isnt avaliable. If I could find 20/50 delo or Delvac Id use it in our 3 HD`s and stop with the Mobil 1 even.
Another consideration is run the tank full when possible rather than almost empty, reasons are 1# less chance of moisture and more importantly diesels return much fuel back to the tank thru overflow systems etc after running it thru the pump, low tanks= hotter fuel levels which kill the pumps, specially in the 6.5`s and earlier GM diesels.

Was it recommended not to run seafoam in a gasoline engine or did I read wrong? I haven't run it through my Blazer but have through my CTS-V. Can through the gas tank, half into crankcase, and the last half through the vacuum lines. Seemed to work well.
