ok so I'm swapping seats from the donor 84 into the 72 suburban. The 84 has threaded bungs in the floor for the screws that secure the seats. Is there anything that can be installed to replicate those threaded bungs? You guys just drill holes and bolt them in with nuts and bolts? I'm looking for a solution. Thanks

They aren't really threaded bungs just square nuts welded on the backside. Hence that is what I would do.

You can get nutserts but not sure I would trust seats to those

The front seats I had already intended to build up 2" to bring them up to stock height. The back seats I will be installing them as they were in the 84 suburban so that they tumble forward, I hope. If not they can stay in the upright position. The architecture is fairly similar in the back of the 72, so it shouldn't be "much" of an issue to put them in, I was just trying to come up with a solution that didn't involve welding on the underside of the truck as this one has a heavy coating of rubberized undercoating and it will take significant grinding to get it done.
