at least, not without a video camera. Yesterday I drove up to Flagstaff and I came prepared with character letters (to offer some back up for my 4wheeling history). I talked to a really nice Forest Service fella and explained to him that the trail was inadequately marked and so forth. He said he'd talk to the judge.
A few minutes later, he came back and related that the judge had dismissed my case and I could go.
I learned several lessons.
1. Fight all offroading tickets/citations
2. When you cuss, forest servie officers writed down everything you say (thought it has absolutely no bearing on the case)
3. Always have a video camera that proves you didn't go "off-trail".
4. Sedona eco-nazis, you all can ...______ ______ ________( insert expletive here) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

oops, I recently earned a citation for "driving off trail". It seems a hiker told a forest service rep. that I was driving off trail. They gave me a 250 dollar ticket for heresay. I won, thank god.

And the hiker(s) never deviate from the path. At least if I do go off the trail, unintencionally I will try to get out of the citation, but take it in the end I'm sure. Would the other "nature lovers"!

Hell yeh! Standing up for yourself pays off yet again! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I had forgotten about your run in with the hikers.Im glad it worked out good for ya in the end.

And always always always,no matter how big of a prick the officer is in a situation, keep your cool /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
