See through floor, is it a good idea!?

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow. I had already sent an email asking if they could do floor pans... I just am wondering what the cost would be right now:-/

I'm thinking if you wanted a floor pan, the best way would be to cut square window where you could put a flat piece of material, and just go buy a clear piece of plastic. No way would it make $$$ sense ot have a custom bent/contoured piece made.

Well I am gonna toss this out there, call me dumb or whatever. I just got ahold of a company that makes custom plexiglas and Lexan stuff. I am going to send mine into them and they are gonna duplicate it with either plexi or lexan, When I had it off, I was thinking to myself how cool it would be to be able to see right under your truck when you are 4x4ing... Could be really useful, any insight?
Like another guy said, you won't see much. I drove around without the transmission tunnel for a short time after I swapped to a manual transmission and could barely see the ground. The vast majority of what you will see is the bell housing. Like stated, you'd be better off with see-through floor windows + half doors. ;)

I thought some years had a transmission tunnel that was just spot welded on? I know guys swap them when they convert between 2x4 and 4x4.

Why can't you just buy a sheet of polycarbonate and work it with a heat gun and jigsaw? For that matter, why not just fab a piece of sheet metal? Maybe I missed the original problem...
