Hey guys, you know the "bellhousing cover" where your shifter sticks come up through, that you can unbolt. What is it called officially? I am trying to find a replacement one from jc whitney, any help would be great. thanks.

Shifter boot you talkin about? The only other cover I could think thats on a bellhousing is a dust cover for an auto or an inspection plate for a manual.

Manual or auto?

I think he is talking about the unboltable section of the floor pan itself. I've never seen them made aftermarket anywhere before

Well I am gonna toss this out there, call me dumb or whatever. I just got ahold of a company that makes custom plexiglas and Lexan stuff. I am going to send mine into them and they are gonna duplicate it with either plexi or lexan, When I had it off, I was thinking to myself how cool it would be to be able to see right under your truck when you are 4x4ing... Could be really useful, any insight?

Hell yeah just like the see through inner wheel wells in monster trucks.

yeah it would be cool, but what about when you go through a mud hole and now all you see is muck? it would make more sense for rock crawling. i had thought about it but i just go through mud, so itd be kind of a waste of money, except for the cool factor, and to watch dodging roadkill :smirk:

Actually I had thought about that, and its a simple solution, the windshield washers are cheap and easy to plumb. I am just going to run one up to it, and bam, problem solved. That would allow me to have it nice and clear whenever I needed it.

Really, how much of a view do you think you will have? Probably not much. How much water would you need to blow grease and oil off the underside to see the top of the trans? Sorry, seem about as useful as a lexan diff cover on a mall crawler.

Well... I had left the trans tunnel off for a while after I got my truck going. couldnt see that much, the header collector and the driveshaft on the passenger side If I remember right.

buzz killers. lol. At least it will be original. And as far as whether it will work or not, who knows. I will let you know after im done with it.

Lexan footwell flooring would be MUCH more useful. Not my game though.
