I need to change my sending unit. But not really wanting to drop the tank. So I was thinking about putting in a access panel in. Has anyone done this and how did you do it? Thanks for the input. Matt
You can also use a donor panel from a truck or K5 to get the exact fit with the ribbing. I just used what I had in the garage and it works great.
Makes removing and working on the pump easier than dropping the tank. And if you had to remove the tank, and it had gas in it, you could empty it from the opening.
Yep, just depends on what panel material you can find. I just cut a big hole out of a donor floor, cut a smaller hole in my floor, finished the work, and ran some tek screws on in the lower ribs. That way, the screws aren't the high point. Then it gets covered with my rubber bedmat.
