Sergeant Steel

Updating and improving a military M1008
That truck is perfect.
Thanks. Still needs the OD trans installed a decent stereo.

Are you going to put any of the stenciling back on?
Not sure yet. It looks good with or without the stencils and I can't decide. Thought about a big star the hood but thats been overdone by the jeeps.

damn, that paint job just doubled the value of that truck. its really straight. nice.
Thanks! It has a few small dings. May do some PDR and fix a few others myself. One nice thing about the flat paint is its easy to touch up areas.

Gotta love that frame flex! How're your body mounts? Paint looks awesome!
Body mounts appear to be ok but I may replace them down the road. Just your typical GM frame flex.

Chinaman Gulch April 7th
I may go to that. Need to get my front driveshaft lengthened. Might just do a spacer for now. I think several square owners are also doing a run on the 14th.

@Shawn

I’d skip using Bills driveshaft and call anyone else if I were you. I have a list of people that got less than on work done there in the last several years

Good to know. I just got my 2 shafts for my K5 done there and thought it was a little high. They didn't mark where the driveshafts goes together if gets separated which one did accidentally but I had a picture of it that I could refer back too. They originally came from High Angle Driveline and were gunmetal with centered markings but now black with no markings. Not a big deal but its the little things. I just hope they are balanced and run ok. Been going there for years. I might have to start going to Front Range if others have complaints on workmanship.

I wont air dirty laundry other than mine. But I had to cut it apart and not only recenter it but shorten it 2"

Update:

Due to the unanimous votes, I got the military stencils back on the truck but haven't took any pics yet. Soon to come.

I got tired of not having any cup holder so I got this truck bench console. Compliments the seat well and now I have console storage and drink holders.

The 37" Ironman tires are pretty good and I've been impressed with them. That being said, I came across a smoking deal on brand new 37x13.5x17 Toyo MT tires for $650 for all 4. It was too good of a deal to pass up and I kind of wanted something a little wider so I got the 13.50" width. He could have got other brands. Some like BFG and Goodyear were $50 more which is still a great deal. If anyone wants his # and can pick up the tires in Denver, PM me. He can't ship. I figure I could sell the Ironmans for about the same cost. Hopefully will be mounted tomorrow.

Nice console! What brand/where did you get it?
Found it on cupholders.com for $109. Other places wanted 130+
