I thank everyone for there help but it looks as though this truck is just to worn out in its current condition to drive. I found the problem with the engine though. the vacuum line going to the valve cover wasent leaking but the other valve cover had the same unpluged port so it was pulling air through the crank case causing it to run lean. Im getting tons of clutch chatter and now that the engine is running right see how worn the mounts are. the trans seems to be in dire need of rebuild as well as the L/1 shift rail has nearly stopped working. I really wanted a manual trans in this truck but looks like i will be swapping a 700r4 in its place. The truck is in such terrible shape right now i think a full frame off rebuild may even be in order considering im going to swap the 3 inch body lift with the ord 1 inch body lift. Anyone else ever bought a truck and found out later it was such a peice of junk?

ya im in the middle of dealing with this with my truck now. I bought it a year and a bit ago, and i have pretty much rebuilt it just trying to make it reliable HAHA

Listening to it start out I'm thinking it just has stupid tall gears. Have you had the covers off to confirm the ratio? 3.91 is a Dodge ratio, so I'm gonna guess the seller told you that's what it has?

Even the on road vid it sounds like it's geared tall...

Oh yeah, Borg & Beck clutches are pretty well known for chatter. They just don't feather as nice as the diaphram clutches do.

The rear end is swaped from my old parts blazer that used to be my daily driver untill an unfortunate accident with a transmission line getting cliped by the engine fan causeing the tranny to burn up. even with the 35s i had on the old truck it was buzzing pretty high rpm at 60. my dad had the rear differential cover off of it and counted the gear teeth and the pinion. it did seem a bit strange to me as well but who knows.

Either way i have the parts and will soon have the money to do this truck right. will probly wind up selling the sm465 and pedals to swap in an auto slush box. have been thinking of one of thes. or if anyone knows who builds the best 700r4 lemme know?
