Serp belt swap is on!

Not had chance to try it yet hoping for tonight. Plan on picking up pump just in case since I get a nice discount at Napa and can always return it.

Been working on house remodeling stuff like pulling carpet up and cabinets out for other people to come install Tuesday/Wednesday. Happy wife some what happy life lol.

If you dent the top corner of the reservoir you can fit a wrench in next time without taking the pump off the bracket.
I also cut the bottom hole off the steel bracket on the back. I have done this to all 3 of my trucks without any problems.
You do need the steel bracket on the back of the alternator. The blazer didn't have it when I got it. I didn't know it was
suppose to have it and it cracked the body of the alternator.

Tried your suggestion Frankin with no lick looks like I will be getting another pump.

I talked about it and talked about it.so now it is happening!

Sure going to ask few more ?'s like wiring on compressor or if I can use Napa part # EC80.

So enough talking pic time!!!!

All these views and only one person post up and I even posted pics!

I was going to say, "It's about time", but I didn't want to get Banned. You know how these moderators can be.

Did you get the braces on correctly?
I believe that one goes to an intake stud by the alternator.

Not found pics of braces yet to go by and it's been 100 here. Not to mention doing some home reno right now, pulled carpet up tonight, found out got wrong alt from parts store and tomorow got to pull floating floor up and pull out lower cabinets/counter top.

Will get another alt monday night from my buddy when he works, coolant, drier and upper radiator hose. Call and get napa to deliver a p/s pump to me while working since cheaper there then buddy can get it. After all that should go together easy. Besides figuring out wiring for compressor cause it looks like different end on it then the R4 compressor has - any input here? Drive it later this week to work and charge once I get wiring figured out.

I don't know if you can get the older electrical plug in the compressors. I haven't found one.
Here is my '95.

Here's the steel bracket for the alt and ps pump. You might be able to see the dent just behind and above the ps cap.
The dent allows you to get a box end wrench in to loosen that bolt with the pump still on the aluminum bracket. I think most
people leave that bolt out but the aluminum can crack with out all the bolts. I also slot the holes for the steel bracket at the
manifold (they might be that way already I can't remember). I can get more pics if you need.

As you can see from the above pictures, both brackets bolt to the back of the belt tensioner. Then one to the boss in the front of manifold next to sensor and the other goes to the front manifold bolt or stud on drivers side. The metal bracket is held on the exhaust manifold and both holes are slotted at bottom.
