I've done a bunch of searching on this.. im still not positive tho. I have the DIY4X flip and switch with 4.5" shackles. I also have stock springs with 2" blocks. I am getting rid of the blocks and putting a zero rate in but want to make up the other 1" or even make it 1.5" So i figure i would make some 7" shackles to hopefully make up this 1" or so. Would this be about right? Also the next question would be my current shackle angle is 10degrees back. if i put this 7" shackle on i was hoping the angle would go to about 30 sumthing or would it get steeper? this is all on my 87 k5 thanks guys!

with a longer shackle you lift the vehicle 1/2 the lenght of the shackle. ex. 2" longer shackle= 1" lift. as far as the angle it would change but i am not sure how much. by the way i think DIY offers a 6" or maybe a 7" shackle, if you didn't wat to make it yourself.

yeah im award of the length to lift thing. i just have extra plate laying around so i thought i'd make some and see how it goes. Thanks, anyone else?

Yes it will work for the lift. If you go to a 2.5" longer shckle you will gain 1.25" of lift. It will change you pinion angle, and make your shackle angle worse though. I would say try a 6" and see how it works.

10* aint terrible. You'll have more usefull "stuff" travel in your suspension. Is your rig fully loaded at that angle, as in loaded for the trail the way you'd wheel it?

yeah its at 10degrees with it being fully loaded for what i go wheeling with. I just made some shackles this afternoon that are 6.25" eye to eye and going to cross tie them. I know in reality should just get some 2" springs but my current $$ situation is gonna prevent that.

PS kert i sent ya an email.
