I found some 49" michelins in Phenix City, AL but shipping (through e-bays calc) is around 750 bucks. holy crap thats a lot... is there anyone in the area that could get em, and maybe ship em for less?

Suggestions? thanks

check out www.uship.com It is a reverse auction for shipping. I have used it to good success. You will get responses from big shipping companies down to guys with a pick-up w/ or w/o insurance. There is good feedback from others who have used each shipper. For an item like the tires you may find someone ready to haul another load and they use this site to fill out their load for a bit more cash. Just do your homework on the guys who respond to your requirement, most are good but there could be some bad apples.

I ship and receive freight at my warehouse on a regular basis.
I'll run a quote through my connections if you want.
I'll need the following
ZIP codes for origin and destination, business to business with dock or forklift
on each end would be cheapest
total weight, including pallet/packaging

I ran the following examples as class 60, bus. to bus.
800# $255
1000# $270
1250# $335
1500# $405
