What do you guys reccomend? Off road use only. I also have the dual shocks and would like to have a single set up. Do i need new mounts? or can I just remove the outer shock and mount it into the upper mount?

Thanx.

The mounts depend on how much lift and suspension travel you have.

I had to move the mounts to get all of the suspension travel out of my 4" BDS lift.

I didn't have any shocks during EJS :doah: but I have four of these that I need to make new mounts for (they're 13.5" travel)

I know you say offroad use only, but what kind of offroad use?

I like my Doetsch Tech monotubes, but they are $100ea. I can't tell as much difference with them on the trail, but I can really tell they are working on higher speed stuff. Running down the road that leads from the highway to Gold Bar, Metal Masher, etc, they work really well at high speed. They also work awesome on I70 through the Rockies, but I know you're not interested in highway driving.

The valving can be changed and they are rebuildable so if I knew more about how to do it, I could play around with them to really dial them in. I let DT pick the valving and they seem to do fine. I'm sure they help on the trail, but it's hard for me to quantify how much because I changed my suspension at the same time I changed the shocks.

Here's the article on my shocks in the Product Review section: http://coloradok5.com/custom-doetsch-tech-shock-install.shtml
