Shop build. HEAT!

I have this guy in my shop. NewAir G56 5600 Watt Garage Heater - Get Fast Heat for 560 Sq. Ft. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NJ6K8K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZI0-BbKKNCCTM Well not exactly, but they don’t sell the one I have. With the amount of insulation you have it will do decent. You will probably need two for you shop size, and those ceiling fans will be your best friend.

try these guys also www.shurail.com i got my modine hot dawg heater from them . best price even shipped . contractor friends local couldnt touch it .

i dont know if they have your pipe style you need tho have to call and ask them .

How much can the exhaust pipes cost, that an electric is cheaper to buy.... ? If a few hundred is do-able I'd say grab a diesel torpedo and be done.

My shop is 1400 sqft with 9.5' ceilings and I can heat it to Tshirt temps in about 15 minutes. Then I don't have to kick it on again for a half HR or more. If I turn it on and leave it for half HR or more I can go more than an HR before running it for 10 minutes again. Then I just bump it 10 minutes every hr to hr and a half. Mine has a 9 gallon tank and it will run forever on that.

Just a thought

Something I have to considered.

But the electric has a 2 fold mission. It will remain as a backup to the waste oil heater. With as cold as it gets here and the fact I might not go in the shop every day due to my health. I want to make sure it never freezes and ruins paint caulk etc

If you trust the torpedo you could leave it set up on a thermostat controlled outlet.. they're about $25 on Amazon.. but the electric would be easier to get out of the way for sure lol.

I have electric exclusive in my barn and shop. Having the foam insulation helps a ton over batts.
Mine are 4000w units and I have two in each building but I’m sure with the foam the barn would be fine on one.
Nat gas isn’t available to me and I tried LPG and it created moisture (non vented unit) and I had trouble with the gas valve. My electric units are from amazon bought in a pair, l paid ~$170 for them

I have a few jobs I did that pay a month later and I am happy with that because I am doing ok now but I would spend any money I get now and January is a slow month and having money coming in then is nice.
As for the help, it's always nice when someone needs something from you and offers help in return.
I am working on something like that to get some of my stuff gone and the rest sorted out.

The guy that helped me is a great guy. Does not take using my shop lightly. He has done stuff in there twice. Always cleaned up, in fact left it better. That's pretty much all you have to do to use my shop lol, clean up after yourself.

How are those 1 bys attached to the 2x4s? Not thrilled about that supporting all that metal, but then again I always like to over-engineer things.

1x? Those are all 2x6s. Lag screwed to studs. They are glued in addition to being screwed.

I have hung off everyone.

To be honest I'm a bit worried about them too. I really need to build em out of steel but for now they will do......I hope

They look thinner than the 2x's. If you must use wood I'd use plywood and make it more of a triangle. Just worried that those will split where the lag bolt go through them.

You are correct. I need to change this sooner than later
