The back window will not go up and there is thunder outside! Help!

I have been vacillating between a Scout and a Blazer for a while now. Decided on the Blazer today and I already looked at this one once a few weeks ago.

It came with the original seats, new door panels, new dash pad, new shocks and stabilizers, a cowel hood, lots of little things in boxes and it already has new 4" lift kit and new brakes and lines installed. I don't see any rust anywhere and I spent some time underneath it with a bright light before laying down the cash, all $2250 of it!

My Blazer has the quad shock option and the original shocks are gone;. I have new ones in boxes but no mounting hardware. How do the quad shocks bolt up on the bottom?

I took mine off a long time ago but if I remember right they have a long bolt that mounts the normal shock in the mount then maybe a small spacer or some washers and then the other shock goes on. I really can't remember 100% though.

Having more trouble. The engine won't really turn over with a hot battery. I took out all the plugs and it turns over fine, I tried a new ground wire from the battery to the engine with no change.

Can a starter get weak?

Heat soak is a common small block problem. Not just square bodys. Start great cold but the heat from the exhaust gets to the starter and some wont restart. There are heat shields to combat the problem. I would try a new starter if this describes your issues, and a heat shield.

How long before I can post in tech forums? I'm trying to decide if I wantto put any money into this engine or just yank it out and go LS

I don't think there is a minimum. You should be good now. Lots of opinions and lots of debate. If you've got the scratch, you won't regret it. I'm very happy with my 6.0 .

My '89 has a great body but has been sitting for a long time. I have yet to get it started. I think the starter is out. I know it will need exhaust, probably all of the thinngs that an old engine will need, if it is in fact good. After that, It will have the anemic engine that it came with. It seems like Vortec heads and an intake push the cost up to near LS levels already.

We had an Escalade with a 6.0 that was awesome. 5.3 is 1/3 the price around here, do they have enough umph to warrant the hassle of a swap?

Would my 700r4 and NP241 be compatible in a swap?

Ditch the 700r4 (but if it's an original 89, it's an improvement over the older 700r4 so someone might want it)
Grab an LS with a trans. Getting an engine/trans combo together is less headache since the computer and everything is already set for it. The 241 will work but you will need a cable adapter/pulse generator for the ECM to see speed.
