Anyone notice a shortage of brake rotors for a 79 k20?

I ordered my diy4x brackets for rear disc conversion today, thanks again Kert.
But now i was sourcing the brake rotors and calipers. The calipers are easy only sub 20 buck range plus a 20-25 dollar core dooh. but the rotors are another matter. I checked autozone, advance and oriel'ys all either have no stock or back ordered. I checked summit and found the bendix brand at 60 bucks , but they wont ship til 1/24... are these becoming rare?
Or did one of you all brake the rotor fabing machine??

sheesh

Any front 3/4 ton rotor from 1973-1987 (91 for Suburban and crew cab) will work, they're all the same.

thanks 4x4 I knew that i just used the 79 as a search parameter thats where my 3/4 axles came off of.
I am just suprised there arent any in town lol

Figured you might already know the years on the rotors BUT if I were you I would go back to your local parts store and ask for rotors from ANY of the other years and i'll bet they either have them or can get them either the same day or the next day. :deal:

I will go ask tomorrow. I was jus looking online this evening , havent ventured in to the store yet.

I do have a question on sizing. Looking on the advanced auto page there are different size calipers and the brake pads were asking which brake package was on the truck. currently my truck had the larger 13 in brakes. is the front rotor and caliper different for these? if so . ill have to ask Kert what the mounting holes were made for if they are different.

I did a quick search at O'reilly's and this store...714 West 21st Street - Wichita, KS says to call store for availability and worst case can have them within 24 hours.

bolt patterns the same, but the jb6 were half tons and light duty 3/4s, while the jb7s had a slightly bigger piston diameter. I plan to use the jb7s up front and jb6s in the rear. I started a thread about this about a week ago, click my name, find threads started by, and it should be one of the top ones.

The front rotors are all the same as are the pads, the rear drums and shoes will have a choice of either 11" or 13" and then there is even a choice for width on both I believe also.

Hey! I'm honored you're thinking of Kansas, Scott!:bow::bow::waytogo::haha::doah:

BTW, to oakknight: is that $60 price from Summit for EACH rotor or a pair? Be aware you can get a pair for around $75-ish thru O'Reilly.
