Yea if he has the large bearing 10 bolt. If not then he can't swap it from 6 lug to 8 lug. Then he would need to swap to a large bearing 10 bolt. See what I mean now?
The WMS width is determined by the axle shaft you run.but i like the shorter axle in the back which the 8 lugs seem to be and 6 lugs are wider.
Well my new 14 bolt looks nice haha. 4.10 gears which look to be in great shape. Fluid wasnt even milky. Even a complimentary gov bomb lol. Are the gov bombs in these as bad as they are in 10bolts??
Now ima find some 6 lug axles, disk setup and a locker. Check out the bearings and seals. Should have a nice solid rear axle with 4.10s. Guess i gotta leanr how to redo the front lol.
For $100 i couldnt pass.
Nice!!! But gov bombs are gov bombs!! Replace with a detroit or weld that SOB up!

I wont weld it cuz i still wanna be able to turn without the squeeky lol. But some locker. And the guy thought it was a one ton. Was a k20 so that makes more sense. If i woulda seen a k20 a year ago before this sight i wouldnt have known the differance either lol. So that makes sense that the glove box tag said 4.10s. Im siked![]()

Well Full detroit then, otherwise you will not be happy at all. Man you sure are picky, straight shinny sheet metal, lockers that do not bang, or make the tires squeaky. Must be a skinny pants thing![]()

I think that's an exaggeration. Look at the amount of material in the 14bsf carrier compared to the 10bolt carrier. The whole "locker" is bigger, not just just the same gov-bomb with a bigger ring gear. I can't see why anybody would worry about a 14bsf with 33" tires, regardless of the carrier.a govb bomb 14bsf isn't much better than a 10 bolt.
Congrats on the deal!
So, how wide is the axle from wheel surface to wheel surface? Just curious if it's the narrower one.....
