Is that 9.5" of clearance shaved or unshaved? I'll be shaving mine when i do it, and will install disc brakes also to shave off like 100 lbs off those heavy mothas.
Its going to be expensive for the whole setup including new caddy calipers, like 540 bucks. But I think it will be worth it. I think a shaved 14bolt FF with disc brakes would be pretty bad-ass and super strong, then next will be worrying about the front axle, D60 is out of the question for now and I don't think its needed for my use.
I need to get new gears and was planning on getting some 4.10 geared axles unless I can find some 4.56 since I plan on going with bigger tires. But 4.10s will work for my 33's till they wear out anyway. I would prefer that I not break anything and get myself stuck having to replace axles or some crap on a trail. So i'll probably be picking up a 14BFF and matching 8 lug front axle soon as the funs are available and I find the set I want.
$90 for the brackets, $30 ea for rotors, which leaves you about $390 for calipers and pads. i dont think you're shopping around very effectively or something. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
I could probably do it cheaper, what do cadillac calipers usually run for? I'll have to have an emergency brake for sure, don't want to sacrifce it or have to install a driveline brake.
i think that you should look in to www.govliqidation.com and take the money for the swap and put on a bid for a cucv pick up becuse of the d60 and 14bff with a locker in the rear and 4.56 cogs you cant go wrong and most of the time you can get them really cheap and you can keep the th400 np208 stuff to trade or sale that is what i did

Theres a guy on another chevy forums who runs a website, Blackbird customs I think that seels a whole disk brake kit, you can get it with or without caddy clipers and with caddy calipers its 540 dollars I think.
Check www.ak-kickin.com they sell the 14 bolt disc brackets for $80 or so...and the rest you can source locally. No reason to pay $540 for a disc brake swap, unless you feel the need to give away your hard earned money needlessly. caddy calipers are a bit spendy, but not $480...
