Should I leave my air compressor on all the time?

What about draining the tank? This should be done on a regular basis.

Yes. Drain it every other weekend. Be sure to have a combo filter/regulator installed inline right after the outlet of your compressor.

Not like this is a new comment but I too suggest just turning it off unless you're going to use it. At a machine shop down the street from the machine shop I work at someone forgot to turn it off and the next day when they got there their back yard was covered with parts and pieces...

That night one of the lines blew (they forgot to turn it off as well as use the regulator to take the pressure out of the lines) and one of the lines broke causing the compressor to run all night...KABLOOIE!!!

For those that are saying drain it every XX... umm I drain mine after every day I use it. X100 on humid days... You'll be amazed by the amount of water that comes out. Also I leave it with the vales open while not it use. If it was a big tank that was stationary in my garge I wouldnt do it as much.

All in all theres no reason not to... Laziness is about the only reason you shouldnt.
