Should sealant be used on vacuum outlets in the intake manifold?

Should thread sealant be used on the vacuum outlets/"trees" in the intake manifold----such as for trans vacuum modulator, vacuum advance etc.?
 
aren't we talking NPT here?

if so, sure, whatever ya want to throw on there.. teflon tape ( i generally only tape plastic components.), pipe dope, actual thread sealants from Permatex, etc.. any are fine for a vac situation.. technically it's pipe thread and should tighten enough that it wont leak being tapered, but... throw a positioned 90, etc into the mix and a sealant is wise, if not all the time... i use mostly pipe dopes and thread sealants or at least some aviation seal, etc on em depending on it's app...

if we're talking sumfin else, nevermind.. ;)
