shoulder belt in \'72 Blazer

Has anyone installed a shoulder belt in a 1st gen Blazer? I noticed plugs on my single wall hard top & wodered if they were for optional shoulder belts.
Thanks in Advance,

I just had them put in. Yes, those holes were drilled at the factory for an optional 3 piece. I had a guy in denver install mine and it works great and is a bit safer.

What were the belts out of? I've heard of guys using the belts out of an s-10, but I wonder if any others will work.

Re: shoulder belt in \'72 Blazer

I've been looking around and the best choices that I've found are from a late 90's tahoe or suburban. These (i think) could be bolted up to the existing holes with a little trimming of the plastic fairing. The other option (my choise) would be belts from a jeep wrangler. They are a self contained unit that could be bolted to the forward bed post.

I'm Looking around also for the same. If You guys come up with something, that fit's somewhat close, please post it!

Hard top hoist

I had a brainstorm about those same threaded holes at the four corners. Could they be drilled through and fitted with the right insert to make external lift points for hoisting the top off? Just an idea, no prototypes yet /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Re: Hard top hoist

good idea. i would trust it to hold up the top before i would trust it to hold me in a wreck. something about the fiberglass.
