No reason for heavy axles. The trucks are trailered everywhere and rarely drive.

No truck that has a Powerstroke Diesel from the factory has ever come with a Dana 60 rear. They come with sterling rearends with either a 10.25" or 10.5" ring gear. That's plenty big. That truck is hardly all show. I am not trying to put you down or anything either, but your Blazer has a, "600 hp big block" and it's still 6 lug.
As for show trucks in general, I hate strictly show trucks. This year, quite a few of them went through the mud bogs or pulled back to back, so I thought that was pretty cool.
