Here's my 79
D60/ '03 14BFF, 4" lift with 37s
Still have many more things I'd like to do even though I've done a ton of work to it over the years. Never ending as you all know.

Progressively changing. Got it as a camper.

How it currently sits

Very nice! I like this rig a lot. I've thought about doing the blue bowtie a few times as well. You should make a build thread.

enjoying the thread - lots of great looking rigs

i had started with this, it was in the family since new in '86...

i had done a lift, gears and a rebuilt 350, complete exhaust, headers (trans came later)...

after my dad passed away in 2012, i stepped up the process to fix it up some more. after all, it was his truck...

still have a way to go (including one ton gear thats been sitting in my driveway for a few years now)

Thanks Dueling! Still have a huge list of things to finish but the only question left is whether or not to trim the fenders for larger tires...wish I had given it more thought before it was painted.

Oh I'm waiting for a reply from Adam (deuling) on this

Nice looking truck:waytogo:

Please no :doah:

Im the anti fender trimming Nazi around these parts

I lifted mine more than I needed for my tire size, just so I wouldn't have to trim, and my sheet metal is nowhere near as nice looking as yours.

Thanks Dueling - you've convinced me not to trim the sheet metal. Although I was 90% sure it wasn't going to happen. But now what do I do about the set of 38's in my garage?

PS: I have read a few of your historic posts about not "trimming":D

I'm for no fender trimming also.
I have 38'S with no fender trimming

DIY4x's EZ-Inch kit will help, especially if you use them to relocate your axles forward in the front, backward in the rear.

Yes, you can fit bigger tires with axle movement as well. Look at how the axle is going to move under bump travel. A shackle is only going to move it one way on compression, which is the only thing you are worried about as far as sheet metal damage.

My shackle flip in the rear moved my axle way forward at ride height, but im fine with it because its only going to move to the back on up travel.

I humbly submit mine:
'76 K10 Shortbed "Scottsdale"

As I bought it:
350/TH350/D44/12b/3.73s/4" Rancho lift/35s

For 5 years, I've saved up for and put together a CUCV D60, 14FF with a Detroit, 4.56 gears, and bought a pile of ORD and DIY4X mods for it. Then 2 summers ago, I tore it down and...

-sold the bed, my 35s, and the dual saddle gas tanks
-fabbed some crossmembers and installed a 31 gallon Blazer tank
-installed the tons
-crossover steering
-did the 52/56 spring swap
-took a stab at fabbing my own flatbed

Here it is during "reconstructive surgery" 2 summers ago, pre-flatbed

Here it is during flatbed construction. I was bleeding the air out of the power steering system that day.

*** please excuse the inverted shackle. I've since fixed it with a longer one.

This past summer, it was finally "driveable"; (I use that term loosely). -Driveline vibes, cupped tires, no front alignment yet, death wobble from no steering stabilizer, and my NP203's front output bearing is about shot I think. Needless to say, I didn't drive it far.
