Ok, got the new power steering pump today..only 2 weeks after I ordered it
Bought a PSC pump and thier smaller 5 inch vortec pulley...which helps for slow speed.
Hit the shop..all fired up to get on it...Started pulling the old pump..couldn't remember if I bought a pump pulley tool last time..look around..nope can't find it..run to vatozone... $40..come home...find old pulley tool...
...go back to vatozone...get back into shop..2 minutes wife txts, (she's at an ALS charity car wash) come over here and pick us up. Go get her and kid. See a buddy of mine I haven't seen for like 14 years...spend 2 hours at car wash..get home..eat half of subway lunch samich.
Start on pump. Make a giant mess..who knew half a quart of amsoil hydo fluid could cover so much...
Get old pump out....new one in..smooth..look at old hose from pump to reservoir...this ain't gonna cut it...drive to Baxters..get 2 #10 Russell AE fittings and 3 feet of #10 hose.
Now, I like Russell. He's a great guy. But his fittings are crap.
Last fitting..last hose...AE 6, 90 degree...halfway in not even close to end..snapped that SOB right off
...look at watch 7pm..cool they still open..nope Saturday they just closed...now what do I do?...turn the shop upside down...find this old 90 degree fitting on a shelf under stuff I haven't touched in years..it's tri-colored..blue and two different shades of pink. Throw it on there and it works..prob gonna keep it on there..it's from a 2 wheel drive pre runner stepside I had years ago.
Got all together and nothing leaks.
