The Trazer seems to sit a little higher than the Blazer did, which was a perfect height for me. After trying to hop in it last week, I decided I need something in the way of a step

So I'm wondering if anyone's using them, if so, what are ya running, and got any pics?

Diet and exercise..:flipoff:

Or maybe one of those wheelchair lift things...

Or carry a small step ladder with you...

Or maybe install airbags so you can lay frame and be able to get in...

:D :D :D

i can get in the truck with the door wide open, but when i got in the other side of the truck thats parked close to the fence, i had a hell of a time....smart ass

After I get my exhaust moved, I plan to run the DPI bolt on sliders with the guards. The guards will provide the body with some protection, as well as make great steps. Personally I prefer something that is going to protect my body as well as provide a step to get into the truck. I have no trouble getting into the truck, but my kids struggle now, and I can't imagine the hard time they will have once I get the lift in.

TTT!

I like the dpi sliders, but I`m looking for something that is a little lower.

i would definitely go with a DPI slider then just simply make a bracket that comes down off of that, this way ur not wasting time with some non-protective parts. Also making brackets that hang down would be really easy. Just drill 2 holes thru the rock slider to fit bolts thru or a hitch pin set up. I have thot about doing this for some of the ladies that get in my k5.. but its more fun to watch em get up in it :p

Don't know what your rig looks like but just buy the DPI sliders and do what heavy equipment operators do/have for steps. they will attach a piece of cable or chain to the cab/frame/or whatever and make it like a loop or a "U" shape. Works great as a step and if it encounters a rock, etc it won't hang up, break or bend.

was thinkin the same thing...perhaps like this...

notice the chains hangin down...if i rememder correctly, he used motorcycle chain...

I like the chain/strap idea. Maybe a length of chain on on carabine (sp) for easy removal, or just weld them.....time to check the prices

The chain/strap idea is a pretty good idea, I had just planned to build a step I could quickly attach when I am doing street driving. Then I could just remove it when I needed it out of the way off road. I just wanted something to give the kids a bit of help until they grow some more. My wife would probably enjoy it as well:haha:

Use rocksliders with a lower bar for a step. Keeping it continous prevents you from getting hung up on the step. Here's mine:

Don't do the chains, "been there, done that".:doah: If you do any mud riding, they get caked up and are slick as owl sh!t. They will also catch your foot, especially if you wear any type of boots with a heel, if you're not careful, which could twist an ankle. Plus, if you mount them to the rocker, they are too far under the door, which causes you to hit your shin on the rocker. I yanked mine within a couple of weeks after installing them.
