Why is there so much sand here? And why is there so much oil under the Earth? Obviously God wanted mankind to create the internal combustion engine and go wheeling.:D

This is the adventure we organized here: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232187

CK5 Members showing up were goofy1, Big83Chevy4x4 and Blue85. Also attending were a few friends of Big83Chevy4x4, including the owner of the truck he was co-driver in and a family with a new Wrangler.

Part of the beauty of this park is how the entrance road takes you right to the base of test hill, where most people get a chance to fail multiple times at the hill climb before figuring it out. Of course when man and/or machine doesn't have what it takes, there is always another way around.

Goofy1 fails:

Looks like you guys had a good time. How was the crowd?

This morning I caught a little air and I think I tagged all four fenders with rubber at the same time. I was getting up speed for a hill and hit this big dip. Of course the crunching noise made me let off and I didn't crest the hill, so I had to back up and hit that one again. The right rear tire got cut up by the fender.

Saturday afternoon was crowded enough that there were hardly any lines left open on test hill. Saturday morning was kind of light and Sunday morning was practically empty (see picture a few posts up). Goofy1 and I were both going to wheel this morning, but he got sick and went home, so my 5-year old spotter and I went it alone. We did get some video of this sick sand rail. I may post it later.

Some of the sand is really soft. It's always being moved around by the wind. This is not the softest stuff we found:

There is also water to play in:

I don't have too many pictures, but one does have that red Blazer. It was really nice. I watched it tow the monster truck to the parking lot later in the day.

When I saw a cherry 1st gen pull into the campground, I thought "cool". When I saw another and another I thought I was dead and and my theories about heaven were true - everybody really does get one.

Man, I missed out...

The big truck...holy 80's survivor batman!

This is all the footage I took. A lot of it is just random people running test hill. Check out the white sand rail near the end, though.

I do like your spotter's comments about the water (your carpet would already be half dry ;) by now ). Thanks for the whole idea I had a great time. next time we will have to get more to come out and play in the big sandbox.

PS It was along trip home not feeling well but made longer when my other muffler broke off at the front of the muffler right in Grand Rapids.

OK I WILL TYPE LOUDER SO YOU CAN HEAR ME! :haha:

Looks like you guys had a grest time up there, Wish I could have gone. Hopefully we set up another one for september.

Did you ever wire it up after that exhaust mount broke?

I lost a tailpipe once towing a little trailer up from Illinois. It sounded a little better, so I cut the other tailpipe off too and threw them both in the trailer. I ran with those Flo-Pros dumping under the truck for like a year after that.

I found another picture of your truck from Saturday:
