Silver Lake! Calling MI, OH, IN rigs

I think we all prefer a reservation to avoid sleeping in the rig, but you could always take your chances at the state park. I know the policy used to be that 1/2 the sites were reserved and 1/2 the sites were for drive-ups.

The going rate for hotel rooms is about $150. I've contacted a couple of other campgrounds, but it would help to know how many campers vs. tents. I guess camping is about $25-$45.

Thank you for your e-mail! We do have availability, although the amount would definitely depend on the number of sites you are looking for. Our tent sites are available in either water and electric or rustic sites; water and electric sites are $35 per night while rustic is $30 per night. These are family based rates that cover 2 adults and your children 18 and under. Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions!

Yes we have sites available for those dates. We allow 2 adults to a campsite. You would need to let me know if you are coming or not fairly soon. Thanks for your inquiry.

I'm going with a few other people on Aug. 8th if anybody else is let me know. I'll probably be staying at Whispering Surf in Pentwater.
 
I used to be able to find a page that listed reservable % for all the state parks but I think it was dropped in the latest site revision. I have set up a reservation for a camper on private land $300 for the weekend, sleeps 4-6 and he allows one tent for $10 extra per night with enough parking for 6-8 trucks and even a couple of car trailers ( works out to ~ 27 per night for 6 peolpe). Also working on a friend of a friend to let us set up tents on his two lots near the state campground. I will keep updates going. Please let me/ us know if you find something also

So where is this private land? Are you still looking for people to stay there with you? Is this one of those things where there is a camper there all summer/year or are you bringing it?
 
So what's the word on this?

I just found out we're having an open house on Sunday so we're going to be cleaning all weekend for it. I will be down on Saturday but unfortunately it won't be for long.

Need to know who, what, and where.


Speaking of which...anybody heard from Boggerless lately?

I let the reservation go on the camper but can check if it is still avail. The friend of a friend said no because family will be using the property that weekend. I will be making reservations at a campground in Pentwater if I do not hear from enough to make the camper worthwhile (about 6 peolpe to split the $300), the campground is no alch but OK with me (I can mix in a tent and drink from the Coke bottle) and had many tent sites avail a week ago for $25 no water or elec. , $28 for elec. Let me know what to do because I am calling in my spot by Monday.
 
its a week away, what time and where is everyone gonna get together? on the dunes would be nice but its difficult to plan because of the vouchers. vocher parking lot? it preaty big and can hold more than enough rigs. or at some camp ground.

i will be up just for the day on saturday, i have a family get together that weekend and need to atleast make an apperinace on friday night. on sunday i have a race i want to go to, it looks like alot of fun.

im hoping to leave here at 6am and will be there at about 8am. i recieved batman friday so he will be making the trip also.

I stopped by his house today and his internet is temporarily out of service, and also is having some issues with his voicemail. On a good note he is still going to Silver Lake and is looking forward to it. Also AJM he has the rear slider and gonna bring it to the dunes. I am making my reservation in the morning for Silver L. resort or Pentwater but don't know about anyone else. Meeting at the voucher lot sounds good to me. I will PM anyone that wants my Cell #
 
Do we have a meeting point or anything yet? Time of arrival, etc?

Am I going to have any difficulty parking in the State Park's parking lot? I'm not going to be wheeling my vehicle, just leaving it there while I'm there and then tracking you guys down.

Who is OK to meet at 8am? Should we set a later time? Anybody coming early can go wheeling and swing back out to the parking lot to meet up.


If you show up later in the day with a rig, you can probably find our group out in the dunes. Without a rig...how is the cell phone service there?
