If the mods feel the need to move this , that is fine, but thought id ask here anyways. lol.

Ive yanked the side panels and had the interior Line Xd' It looks really good and infact Im not going to be putting the side panels back. So now what do I do about some mid and rear speakers. The dash only ones arent getting it. What kind of options do I have? I thought it would be cool to have something fabbed up to put two 3" speakers beside the dome light overhead. Like the jeep cherokee has for the rear speakers, pointing down. But I wouldnt know where to begin with something like that.

Im not a fan of the kick panels, I think id be kicking them all the time. lol. Also not a fan of door speakers, the always seem to rattle and never give good sound.

What about fabbing up some small boxes/enclosures for some 6x9's and mounting them to the left and right of the back seat... Make them shallow enough so that they're almost flush with the bed rail, and mount them to the bed rail.

If you really want to make it trick, spray 'em with more bedliner (Line-X or rattle-can liner) to match.

I thought about that as well. WOuld work, but I have zero skills when it comes to that.

Im still trying to figure out what to do about my wires. No more carpet to hide the rear dome light and rear speaker wires.

Run them under the floor with wire loom and zip ties to protect them.

Works fine for the taillight wiring...

You could run the wires through some hard line. I think that would look pretty clean if done right.

As for speakers you could get some boat tower speakers. They are already in a box and are weather proof if you take your top off often. You could just rig them to mount under your bedrails, or if you ever get a cage mount them right behind your head for maximum hearing loss. They hit loud as all get out too, cause they are meant to be used outdoors and heard from about 30' off.

I'm in the same frame of mind, wanting more speakers but not wanting to run side panels, here's my idea: I think what I am going to do is mount some marine speakers (waterproof) to the front upper corner below the top rail where my Jimmy has ashtrays right now, cut out the ashtrays and mount the speakers on brackets there. Waterproof since they are behind the halfcab top (right where it ends). Like these speakers (I think the grey would be a better choice than the white but, same dimensions):

They may stick out a bit though, here's what I found for them dimensions-wise:

I ended up using some Bazooka tubes I had laying around. They were a pair that I just yanked the speakers out of and replaced with some 6 1/2" (tube diameter) 2 way marine speakers I also had taking up space. They sit on top of the rear wheel wells, face forward and are secured in the void that the panels would cover up. They're Herc'd, sound great and were extremely simple. Depending on what speakers your using you may beable to by some pvc tube, cut, cap, stuff, paint and be done. Id post a pic but im out of state at the moment.
Just another idea for you.

I had a set of 6x9s in a box mounted on top of the rear wheel well, and worked good for me. I'm liking those outdoor speakers.
