sittin on 44's

looks good, but ill give it 10-15miles. what gears are in the 10b? your tranny might be racing against the 10b's to see what will break first if you dont have at least 4.56's. good luck :)

Yeah The cops here in lancaster are always eyeing me up. and i made mine legal. stupid mudflaps and fender flares! had to lower my bumper (just welded more on the bottoms) Pisses me off i get pulled over and there is a new superduty with 38's sticking out bout 3" past the body and they dont blink an eye!

thanks for the sig change, but they are 44/19.5/15, not 18 :D. but yeah, not exactally sure what gears are in the rears but i know they are high, like 3.73 or higher. im going one tons with either 4.56's or 5.13's, sm465/205 also

My bad :tongue1:
One tons are definitely a good idea as are the 5.13's. I'm running 4.10 still with my 39's and 465/205 and could definitely use some more gearing. You know it's bad when you've got to use granny to start at stoplights if the road is 100% flat :doah:

I ran half a season with a 10bolt front. I replaced bald 44" monster mudders with 44" boggers I never broke anything. I couldn't spin them with my smallblock and 373 gears. It still got thru all the mud I had to get thru! I upgraded to d60 and 454 still no breakage.
good luck!

hey nice truck man, be careful with the rear end, if it does break, don't move much more, my friend broke his at truck pulls, but didn't know it, we thought it was just the drive shaft and we were driving home from the pulls cause it was only about a 1/2 mile to his house, the only left turn he had to take and the rim/tire walked out about 2ft out of the wheel well....good thing we have PA's to scream at him to stop or he could of dropped right onto the housing!:eek1:, o ya this was in a 98 burban, but its ok now its getting a 14bff and SASed D60 in the front.;)

Looks good. Doesnt sound like you drive it a whole lot on the street, but if you dont plan on going over 70 but once in a blue moon I would definately go with atleast 5.13's.

no, never plan on going anywhere near 70. i havent even been on the highway since its been lifted. just took it down the road a couple miles today for the first time. wow... i forget who said itm but you were right. it drives in 4-lo like it did stock in 2-hi. so i basically using 4-lo the whole time (only went a bout 5 miles). in 4-lo, i can do 45-50 mph and only be turning a hair over 2k :eek1:. definatly lookin for a set of one ton axles now :D. quick question, with a sm465/205, would 5.13's be too low for street? keep in mind i wont ever go over 60.

go lower.... if your gonna keep the 44's.. you're gonna need to do better than 5.13, i'd look at 5.88 so you have some power band left...

60 mph would put you at 2350 rpm, not too bad. It might be ok on the street with the 5.13's, you can always start in granny if you need a little extra gear reduction. 5.88's would bump you rpm's up to almost 2700 which isn't terrible but you'll have to decide for sure. Play around here http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html and see what you come up with ;)

how do you break an axle shaft on the street?

With 44s and 10 bolts, by just stepping on the gas a bit.:D Just let us know what it's like to see a 44 inch tire with an axle shaft sticking out pass you by on the road. Good luck to the people waiting at the bus stop when this happens.:eek1::D

I think 5.38's would be a good ratio for you, its almost the same as 4.10's rolling on 33's.

im going with 5.86's with 42's but im running a 700r4 with a nice overdrive
