SK Slotted Rachet set.

Went into OSH yesterday and they had these rachet sockets with a new pattern they called slotted. About 1/8" wide bars running down the throat. The same socket fits hex and up to 50% rounded hex, square, 12 point and star pattern heads. I thought it may be on the weak side but then again it looked like it would make the same surface contact as a 12 point socket on a hex head.

Wondered if anyone had used or know of a test of this new type of socket. I wouldn't put it up against a 6 point but they might be as good as a 12 point socket.

Snap-on calls that Spline drive...never tried it, though.

works awesome, you can use it on 6pt, 12 pt and Spline fasteners, spline fasteners are used extensively on aircraft of different types, but not yet seen them on an auto, but those are great sockets as they have more surface contact than corner..
