slightly different serpentine belt question

v-belt = 1 set of h20/fan/air pump.

serp = other set.

no you need a puller its on there press fit tight. :whistle:

and no prob with new h2o pump. just give them your old one and dont tell them its diffrent. :D

I went to a pick-n-pull place that only had old Firebirds, Camaro's, Corevettes... you get the idea. I think that basically most GM V8's from the 80's had air pumps and serpentine systems. I got mine off one of the engines they had already pulled out. I think I paid $20.

ok, about to grab a set off CL. Its off an 89 camaro 305 tpi. It comes with everything but water pump. Should I use all the accessories or would my PS pump be better than a cars? Does it spin in the right direction? Also, my AC compressor is still new. It sounds like I can use it, but I'll need to run shorter lines no?

bummer is, my water pump is like brand new, 150 miles used maybe.

thanks all:bow:

I am running the entire setup from a 91-92 camaro (GMPP serpentine kit) and the power steering feels way better now than it did before, they are both P-pumps so there shouldn't be any difference though. The alternator is also higher output than my original one. The camaro water pump is reverse rotation so keep that in mind if you are still using a mechanical fan. I also used a camaro AIR pump (from Kragen) which is about half the size/weight of my original one, I just had to get a little creative with the plumbing to hook it up.
