Thanks bud! the rims are called Centerline Hellcats. I don't really like them but the guy wanted the same price for the tires as he did with with the rims still in em so here we are..
And I thought about attempting to weld it but I ain't the gretest at it. My birthdays in 11 days and a mig welder is the greatest want so we'll see how that goes with the parents. My dad could use it so I'm thinking something will appear :D
 
I got the hobart 140 for xmas last year. Runs on 110 if you dont have a 220 source, I like it alot. Found one at tractor supply for $4XX something. My buddy got the lincoln 120 or something for more like $300 ready to go.., mine has a little more capabilitiy but they are both nice. Just tell your dad "he" needs a welder real bad:D

Im hoping for an oxy/acetylene portable setup this year, prolly wont happen but would be sweet. I learned how to oxy weld pretty well in my welding class, its way more fun

Yeah IIRC the one I asked for is the Lincoln 125 or something like that. Its 110 powered but you can still put gas to it or just use that fluxcore wire stuff

Prolly same one my buddy has. I like it. We use fluxcore cuz works fine. Gas is way sweeter. I cant wait to get the gas cylinder for mine.

My senior year in highschool I had 6 total classes and three of them were ag shop classes and the gas spoiled me but I gotta do without that for now
 
Funny you say that. We had trimesters so 15 classes a year 5 a trimester. 9 of my classes were shop class lol. What awesome days.

That's what I'm using. More than enough for 99% of what you might do on a truck. I'm very happy with it, but of course wouldn't mind something with a bit more umph... On a side note I recently used a friend's Hobart 130 and definitely liked my lincoln better. I'd like to bump up to a miller 211 though:rolleyes:
 
Nice W/T Blazer man. Love those single headlight grilles.

Repair the floor holes with metal and definitely check for more rust THEN put a spray in liner on. Also this would be a good time to beef up your seat mounts (the floor cracks around the stock mounting points).

Also if it's rusty like that from the top check the bottom. Might be worse.

Thanks bud!:waytogo: I'm fully aware of the cracks around the seat mounts. My ag shop teacher bought a K5 about halfway through the year and we had to fix and beef up his floors around the seats. It wasn't pretty but he kept the carpet to hide it. To spray it with bedliner we can't just weld a piece of metal in and call it done
 
You want the rust gone before the bedliner, otherwise itll just keep rusting, and the bedliner wont stick well and peel off.
 
Yeah, I'm going to grind it all down to bare metal, and after fixing the holes, spray something to stop the rust. then the liner on top of that

When we fixed mine we welded big wide plates of 3/16" to the floor on TOP (inside the cab, not underneath). Beefed it up plenty and left the factory captured nuts welded in place underneath to be reused.

Then I had the whole thing Rhino Lined over. Came out good and you don't notice it unless you actually look for it.
 
Im stoked to do some floor repair, I enjoy fabbing and welding alot. :D
 
It was fairly easy to fix really. Well, the fabbing and welding.

Worst was punching the floor mounts back up to the correct position and welding the floorboards back together.

Only thing we could figure was a previous owner and his wife/buddy/significant other/whatever were HEAVY. Most of the seat mounts were badly cracked and pushed down below the level of the floorboards.
 
Im guessing my driver seat mounts are through the floor. I find my self doing the mexican lean everywhere I drive lol, it sits way back:haha:
 
Ruh roh.

Got my first K5 from a farmer over by Coopersville. The seat did the gangster lean pretty bad. Turned out the seatmounts on this '86 were punched through the floor so bad they had repeatedly tack welded progressively wider washers to the floor. Each time it would punch through again they'd weld another on. Was bootyfabtastic.
