Any thoughts on refitting a turtle back in a solid floor rig? Been thinking about it for a while. Pop in some rivnuts to anchor it. There's been many a time over the years where it would have saved me some grief...

It looks like a straightforward swap, but I haven't tried it personally. I was wishing for one when putting the NV3500 into the burb. Having top access is quite handy.
I did the removable tunnel on mine. Cut out the solid one out and stuck it in there. Mine was a c10 cab with auto and I used a 4x4 floor pan. Rivnuts would be nice! I Did it quick and dirty with self tapping roofing screws.
I told myself way back when I put the high jump floor in my 78 that I wouldn’t use screws and I’d do it right. 3 years later I had got stabbed by a self tapping screw pulling the engine.
Not much in the way of an update, just using and abusing for now Since it’s cold and snowy again this week.
took sally for a daylight ride today, hopefully no more late night vet runs like last night.
then in a moment of weakness on Facebook marketplace I decided the Jeep project needed a cooler body. So three friends were loaded up and the trailer attached.
Instead of being a 1995 YJ with no title it’s now going to be a 1949 CJ2A with title. Should be a fun little side project

I hate Jeeps. All of them. But I think I kinda like that whole idea.
flat fenders will alwyas have a special place in my heart, plus it’ll be epic for bombing around the farm

I remember about 25 years ago a neighbor built one one and EVERYONE went crazy. "I'm not living in a machine shed!" And other comments from all the other neighbors.
Lol they are still not the norm, but slowly and surely they are becoming popular now.
I'm in the boat with most guys, I'm guessing. I would live in one- but the wife, not so much.

yeah it sat abandoned with holes in the roof too long. So down into a pile it goes
Been doing a ton of work to the burb the last few days. Finally got the time to rebuild the TBI off of the original knocking engine and swap it back on.
TBI parts splattered all over the bench
Decided to take the lazy way out and used some berrymans chem-dip on the throttle body. It came out wonderfully
Before hosing with brake clean
All reassembled with a new IAC
pulling the nasty old one off. I really need to clean up this things wiring a bit.
Didn’t get any finished pictures since I was in the zone working on it. But it runs much much better now. Before it would hunt rapidly and sometimes die on startup unless you kept it running. Also had a hesitation just off idle most of the time. The cold starts now are perfect and 98% of the hesitation is gone. So overall I’m very happy with the couple hours worth of work.
next was tackling the battery cable ends. Old (not my doing) on top new on bottom. These should last much better and make adding the second battery and some accessories much easier.
Next post will be a bit more fun and less like work
