SM465 and 208

So I have the opportunity to get a SM465 and Np208 with crossmember, shifters, bellhousing, linkage, and clutch (mechanical) for $200. Ive been wanting to swap to a 465 and 205 since I have my Blazer tore apart and my th350 was about to go when I last drove it and I know this has a 208 with it instead of 205 but it seems like a pretty good deal. Guy says it works fine and he was going to put it in his jeep but sold the jeep instead. Any complaints about the 208 or do yall think I should hold out til I find one with a 205? They were put in CUCV's so I guess if they were good enough for the military itd be good enough for me.
 
I had a 208 on mine for 7 years of fairly hard use never had a problem. If your really worried about it split it and put a new chain on and call it good. IMO
 
A;right, so m going to pick it up in a little bit. As for the mechanical clutch, if I decide to go hydro later isnt there a kit to convert the mechanical to hydro? Can you point me in the right direction on that? Thanks. And I'll ask him about the flywheel too, he said he had everything to install it but the pedal asssembly so hopefully its there too, thanks for pointing that out.
 
Advance adapters sells the bracket to put hydro on a mechanical.

You can put a 205 on it later if you want just hard to find that particular 205 round pattern 32 spline and you will need a cable shifter , As all the other 465/205 are 10 spline, Or you can put a stak or other on there as you now have the new 6 bolt round pattern which is industry standard or a np241.
 
i just picked up the same set up. i traded a set of nerf bars a friends gave me for it.:smile1: i had zero use for the pretty black tubes ,so when he inquired about them. mmm he knew i wanted the 465 and he offered,so. hell yeah.i still need to go back for the bell housing.plus when dick neck stripped the truck he didn't grab the pedals out of it??oh well. it was free
