SM465 vs. 700-R4

Can someone give me a breakdown on the gear ratios and most importantly the length of the tranny. I will remove the 700 and put in a 465 and both have 208 t-cases. so is the 465 shorter? and if so how much?

6.55, 3.58, 1.70, 1.00

700r4
3.06, 1.63, 1.00, .70

Dont know about lengths though, I pretty sure that the 700 is longer.

I'm interested too Psycho, I have the same set-up except I already swapped in TH350 out 700R4, used the AdvAdapter ~4".
 
I'm in the process of swaping out my 700r4-208 in my suburban for a 465-208.
My 700-208 is the same length as the 465-208.
The 465 is a shorter transmission but the 465-208 adapter is longer than the 700-208 adapter.

Does the 465-208 adap bolt-up in front, rear and bottom for crossmember mount?
 
is the adapter only needed with a 465 if it didnt come stock with a 208? if i get a 465 that came with a 208 from the factory will it be the same length or shorter?
 
The 465 trans is about 5" shorter than the 700.The factory 465 -208 adapter is about 8" long.
The 700-208 adapter in about 3" long,so when you combind the trans with the adapter they are both about 27 " long.
I just installed the 465 trans yesterday and I can take a picture showing how it mounts up if you want.
 
When I yanked my 700R4/241 out and layed it next to my 465/208 they were within about an inch of each other as far as length. I ended up using a 465/205 that I had from another truck and that combo is about 6" shorter in length. My driveshaft is extremely short and I'm thinking of ways to get my engine and trans back or move my front axle forward since I keep busting front driveshafts when the suspension droops. I need a longer shaft... :D
