Hi all.
I've got a 72 k10 with what i presume is a 5.7.
The engine build code or suffix code on the passenger fron pad reads V0622TWM
and that tells me it's a Flint engine, built ? June 22. The rest doesn't come up in any database I've found.
Do any of you know of a database that will decode this ?

Google

If you have cylinder head and intake manifold part numbers, we can figure out what the motor is for sure

Don’t all of the 327, 283, and other pre 1968 blocks have the smaller main journals, smaller/thin harmonic balancer and smaller front main seal? I was trying to only list things related to the block. Long water pump, drilled for brackets heads and intake manifolds can be swapped to a different block.

Correct, Pre 68 were small journal engines, no accessory mounting on the front of the heads, and short water pump.
Also correct, in the lst 50 years, who knows what may have been swapped!

@Holey76 - Square Nut …are you sure the code is TWM?
whats the block casting # and date codes tell ya?

Ya, even checked it twice, as did a buddy.
(No santa hats involved) I haven't looked at casting numbers yet. But i may do that soon just "fer sheets & giggles"
Does anyone have a thought on why the suffix code doesn't list ?

Its not very common to not find the code…but it happens. Could be a mis stamp or who knows?
I wouldn’t be very concerned about it. Pull a plug and do a boroscope to see what the pistons look like.
Get a head casting number and see what those are.

It has to be a truck. I checked my national sevice data books. None of the cars start with a T
Date code off block would help, I only have @ 12years of NSD manuals

Ya, I'm going to dive back in weds and get it running as well as get the casting #'s.
I'll post em.

lol the left overs they regulated to the trucks.

Short water pump engine in 72, 3 years after the introduction of the 350.

those right hand ac brackets are hard to come by, if you change them out for something else I an interested. Esp with no air pump incorporated.

I'll keep you in mind on the bracket(s)
I'm wanting to keep it fairly original, but not thrilled about the A6 comp.

4 season has an aluminum new replacement.

A6 is the best automotive ac compressor there ever was. Huge displacement it's own oil sump. Whats not to like?

Well, i assUMED the later modelss came along out of necessity and efficiency ?
You suggested a Sandon type a few months back so i was thinking about going that direction.
So does the Sandon style also have its own oil pump ? I read they're available with like 7 or 8 pistons. so if displacement was fairly equal (or is it?) does the 4 season or Sandon type have it's own oil pump too ?

Sandon is a good compromise, the bigger one. I'd switch to a Sandon over an R4 w/o a second thought. Now If I had a Fridgeair A6 that didn't leak No problem continuing to use it.
I am running the 4 Seasons replacement A6 on my 77. It is nice, lighter, couple cu in smaller, no oil sump, and with r12 it cools well and runs 2 evaporators.

That A6 is a survivor, it may be in great shape. Any parts store rebuilt these days is not worth effort, been rebuilt to many times. I have 2 possible good a6 in my core pile. U know this might be useful later specialist.

I didn't think about the A6 In the suburbans and vans running two evaporators. that's impressive.
It'll be a long time down the road before I'm dealing with AC.
But I'll check it for leak down and who knows, maybe it'll stay righr where it is.
:) I've pulled out what little hair i have, over the A4 leaking like sieves.
