With a couple of threads having to do with electric fans lately, does anyone know of any fans (non-aftermarket) that are about the right size for the AC condenser? 30x17".

For those who didn't see my other thread a couple of months ago, I've got a radiator I intend to run where the AC condenser would be. Unfortunately, with that small of a radiator, the LS1 fans I am using now won't fit between the radiator hose fittings.

The LS1 fan(s) are more than enough for my truck...only one fan cools the motor, the other is backup, so I have a feeling dual smaller fans will work fine, or even one large one. Dual will probably work better, especially if used on a car with a low hood, since the fan setup needs to be wider than it is tall.

I don't have the time available to get out to the 'yards and explore anymore unfortunately. :(

I'm struggling with the concept - not only why the condensor makes way for the radiator, which limits room for the fans, etc. - but also the idea that someone on CK5 is trying to make things smaller

How about 50 computer case fans?

I have way more cooling capacity than I need...I can run the radiator in there now (10 years old, copper/brass 3 row) at half capacity and not notice, while only one of the dual fans ever runs. I had a 2 row in there prior, also no issues.

Benefits? AL radiator (not really a benefit to downsizing), less coolant needed (not really a factor), no airflow loss around the radiator, increased fan effectiveness, and for me, it will clear about 4" more or so in front of the motor, enough to stand or sit, where I can't now.

Other than thinking it a pretty neat project though, no real reason. What is in there now works and will work fine, but the radiator is fairly corroded, I already have the AL replacement, so eventually it will have to come out anyway. The fan setup now isn't real effective (doesn't cover the whole radiator, not right against the radiator) so there is some work that can be done anyway.

I'm sure some of the Honda's, Hyundai's, and various other small cars probably use somewhat wide/short fans, I just don't have time for wrecking yard hunting much anymore...would be nice to know what makes to look for. I figure with the fittings on the radiator, 26x19 is the maximum fan shroud size that would fit.

I could only fit about 30 case fans though...
