So... a little different than most... but how small would you go?

Skinny 34s on 1 tons under a Tracker?

Are these small enough?

Thats pretty close to what the factory tires are. The smallest I have ran on the trails were about 32x9 and it sucked.

That's what I am afraid of with the 34s.

But I will have the axles... why not use them!
With the little 4 cylinder, I don't think a larger tire size would be a good idea before an engine swap. Plus I already have the 34s.

I think about 38s is as small as I would want to run on one tons.

I did for a while it was way better than 35s and 40s werent that much better.

I normaly run 37x12.5s aired down to about 34" tall, 43s would be nice but the 37s work.

I would say Q78s or a true 35in tire is the smallest I would run. Its the 14b thats the plow not the dana 60.

Now if you shave or 13b the rear Id say you could run 33s.

Considering Trackers come stock with 5.12's, 4.30's at the lowest, and 27" tall tires you're probably FUBARing the power band anyway.

It already runs pretty good with some 33x12.50s and 5.13s.

If it's too bad, I go to a 4.3l.
Friend of mine out your way did an axle swap and put XJ axles under his Tracker.

Seemed surprised with how slow it was on the 33" Boggers.

He had no clue why going from 5.12's and 29's to 3.73's and 33's with 90hp was so slow.

I always contemplated something like a larger 4cyl with a 2wd trans and then a Samurai t-case with lower gears.

It will be a work in progress. The Blazer is first in line.

I would like a 4.3l, Dana 300 and a TH350... eventually.

High range it was gutless with the 33s. But in lows range, I was pleasantly surprised. But haven't really wheeled it.

My '96 SUCKED when I got it with the 3 speed non-OD auto, 4.30 gears, and the 31's. SLOW AS ****.

Put the 5.12s in out of a 5 speed truck and it was great...but not a highway cruiser.

I like that there are now kits and ways to put Sami t-cases in. Since they have high range reduction stock you can fix the overall gearing that way. Hell, put some 6.5:1 low range gears in and your high range works fine with stock gearing and 33's!

What's the 6.5 kit cost?
