smog inspection

At some point I will leave, California get worse and worse every year.
I took the truck to the refree with the 35's on and the stock gears, I wonder if that would effect what comes out of the tail pipe.

I have been thinking about that too.

Oh and NO it wont effect what comes out the tail pipe because they run it at a specified RPM, so if its higher, theyll just shift it.
 
The smogs are no longer run at certain RPM's but now rather at 15mph and 25mph. So yes tire size and gear ratio do come into play a little now.

Well yes, BUT it still measures the RPM, if its above a specified range, it will abort the test for the RPMs being too high.
 
well last week I took it back to the refree station only for it to fail again, this **** sucks. I was thinking its time to sell it and start over and get something smog exmept but I got over it and took it to my friends shop and pluged in his snap on scan tool and found out the coolant temp sensor was not working and the computer thinks it is still running cold. so I replaced it and I need to try again.

So after that I took the truck to pismo for memorial weekend and towed my friend isuzu to get it in and then thrashed on my blazer all weekend and it ran perfect, even after dozens of times up comp hill and a few jumps and then drove it back with a nasty head wind with no problems exsept the fender where the tire got it a few times, glad I did this TPI the perforance gain is awesome.
