What I am planning on doing is short stacks coming out the hood, one for intake, one for exhaust, pointing in opposite directions. Will need to cut large oval holes with enough room for the whole thing to flex around off road. Hopefully with the turbo it won't be too loud, and with them pointing opposite directions the intake won't suck the exhaust fumes.

So was it a Go or No?

this is exactly everything that my exhaust system contains...................

well ive got a '85 diesel k30, and have got a turbo setup to put on it, and was wondering if you guys thought stacks would look good on our era of truck. i havent seen one with stacks yet so im just curious what people think/ if anyone has pics or anything. since im doing the turbo, i need all new exhuast anyways, so it would be the perfect time to do it. im thinking dual 3.5 pipes til it goes through the bed, and then twin 5 or 6" stacks the rest of the way. i see it not just being for looks, but also for function, as its going to keep the exhuast out of the way of trees and rocks on the trails. let me know what you think. thanks

if you get a decent pic of the truck, ill do a photoshop of it so you can see exactally how it looks... :wink1:

From the research I have been doing for my crew cab witch will eventualy get a turbo 6.5 you can go single 4" and split it and it should breath just right it depends on what size after the split you want. Mine is going to be dual 4" stacks with mitered ends just above the cab. BUT my truck is getting a TINY flatbed and probably tube headache with kickers down to the back of the bed. Also the whole truck is gunna be flat black, everything no chrome anywhere. Even the stacks will get flat black BBQ paint. I will also do a snorkle on the pass side fender. Im doing mine for both clearance under the truck and deep water crossings.

I know it's an old thread, but I think stacks look sick, especially when they're pumping out a bomb of black smoke. If I could, I'd run a single 7" stack on my Duramax, but I'm sure the wife wouldn't like it...I'll have to settle on a 5" turbo back straight pipe :D

muddybuddy if you ever come to texas we could trade trucks right? straight up huh. sounds good, ok. thanks i knew you'd understand!

if you don't diss the 'ol Dodge......... here's the single 6" miter.....your's would look good too.
