Hey guys how many of you restore old tool boxes? I came across an older Snap-on box its kind of small but its the perfect size to bring in to work. The price was rite. FREE a budy of mine told me to get it out of his garage. I work in a body shop. The box has 3 draws its a bottom box so it is on wheels. and its got a bottom compartment. Its in kinda rough shape but nothing alittle elbow grese caint fix.

Ill poast some pictures when I can.

Check it over for cracked welds, and warranty it. A whole lot less work.

The box is structerly good it wasent that abused it can use some new drawer sliders but other then the sliders the wheels role prety good. Its got some surface rust but other then that it just needs some time. im gona strip as much paint off of it as i can buy hand meaning with a DA sander. and prime and paint it in ppg epoxy sealer and eather omni or deltron paint.

The slides are lifetime warrantied.:D Any Snap on dealer can exchange them.

Even if they were intentionaly abused cuz it looks like some one pulled the drawer out with out lifting the stop tab and just riped it out and totaly bent the tab.???

I'm telling you, before you do anything to it, take it to a dealer. He could possibly get you a new box instead of dealing with all that work. I know several people who have done the same thing.

I wouldn't bring up any suspicious abuse. Just tell him that you have a set of slides that are worn out. My snap on guy wouldn't care. It doesn't come out of his pocket.

so my snap-on guy is gona get me the draw tracks for free so thats a good thing and he is even getting me a new key beacuse the box didnot come with one. HEY what do you want for nothing.

Im still wating for my dam tracks from my snapon guy and the key for the box as well it has been weeks since i ordered them what is taking so long.

your box is how old?

and thay order 1 time a week and get shippment 1 week after.

and last he didnt sell it to you so why keep you super happy and spend money out of his pocket till he gets the old stuff back and then gets credit for warrenty job from them.

just be nice and ask them whats up? dont give him to much b/s on the deal that will cost you nothing in the end.

some tool guys wont spend .01 cent on any one who didnt buy from them that thay can prove.
